Kevin Kornicki is an accomplished percussionist, sound engineer and composer. He owns and operates a full production music studio in Satellite Beach, Florida where he composes custom music and produces a variety of audio products/services. Originally from Philadelphia, Kevin is a graduate of the Philadelphia Settlement School of Music. Kevin is a collaborator and the assistant musical director of the award winning Broadway show Squonk Opera. He has pounded out rhythms on the Broadway stage, meeting the standards of New York Time's critics and audiences alike. He has also performed Off-Broadway at P.S. 122. While on Broadway, his troupe won the American Theater Design Award for Unusual Effects. He is credited with producing and recording Squonk's CD compilation, Bigsmorgasbordwunderk, which was picked up by the classical record label, Angel Records. He is unlike any other drummer. His animated theatrics during a performance create a unique auditory and visual experience. He intertwines the use of traditional, uncustomary and primitive styles of percussion fluidly. As Squonk's percussionist and assistant musical director Kevin co-writes the music conceived by Squonk. He co-composed several pieces of Squonk’s New York theater production on Broadway which he and his fellow Squonkers currently tour internationally. As a skilled composer, Kevin takes a dynamic approach to composing that creates stirring familiarity in enigmatic new ways. A powerful easiness replicating a rhythmic blueprint that command's humanity can be heard throughout his compositions. Kevin interlaces bottomless rhythm into all of his work. From his amazing talent of performing, combined with his skill in composing, he was named Pittsburgh’s Best in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette's Theater Awards. Kevin continues to shatter boundaries by collaborating with top notch artists from various disciplines including: Don Soledad & The World Element, the cutting edge dance company, Attack Theatre; composer/cello/piano virtuoso Dave Eggar; and his brother Steve Kornicki. Together Kevin and Steve have created "Deep Time" which is 75 minutes of soundtrack music. The brothers are well known for their lively performances.
